Survey says…
What would you define as “financial freedom”?
>>A recent Bankrate survey posed that question<<, and the results indicated that the average American feels that they would need to earn $223,000 a year to consider themselves “financially comfortable.”
Considering that the >>median household income<< (in 2020) was $67,521, individuals have a long way to go.
You can attribute this higher figure to the changing financial landscape, from inflation to rising housing costs.
Furthermore, the same survey suggests that to feel “rich,” an individual would need an annual income of $483,000. This figure might seem daunting and beyond reach for many – it’s essential to remember that financial comfort and wealth are highly subjective.
The idea of “rich” isn’t solely based on a number but a combination of financial security, savings, investments, and the ability to pursue one’s passions without monetary constraints. While the numbers from the survey provide a broad perspective, your personal financial goals and definitions might differ.
So, I pose the question back to you: What does financial freedom look like for you? If you’re intrigued by where you stand and how you can work towards your own dream, I’m here to guide you through the process.
