Jingle Bills, Jingle Bills: Saving Tips Inside!

The holiday season is just around the corner!

But what if you’re still recovering from the financial fallout from last years’ holiday?

You don’t have to fall into the same trap of excess this year.

There are so many affordable ways to celebrate the holidays without straining your wallet – you don’t need to splurge to make Christmas truly special.

I’ve gathered a few suggestions so you can have a fantastic and heartfelt holiday season without overspending.

  1. Design your own personalized Christmas cards using cardstock, a high-quality photo, and a color printer. Alternatively, you can opt for a cost-effective printing service like Snapfish. Simply sign up, upload a custom-designed photo “card” featuring your family, and take advantage of special offers often available on these platforms for added savings.
  2. Consider drawing names for gift-giving, especially if you have a large family or extended relatives. Set spending limits based on age groups (kids, teens, adults). You could even do this just for the children – it’s often more enjoyable to watch kids open their presents.
  3. Try something new with a Re-Gift Swap. This might not be for everyone, as regifting can be seen as impolite. But let’s be real: we all have gifts we won’t use. To pull this off, ask everyone to bring a wrapped gift they don’t want. Arrange them on a table or beneath the tree, draw numbers, and dive into the excitement of new presents (and don’t forget the snacks). Just make sure you don’t offer up a gift that someone attending gave you!

Christmas can be expensive, making many people dread the holiday.

Keep an eye on your inbox – next time, I’ll go over some ways to cut the commercialism of the holidays and get back to the magic.
