Are you more “retirement fluent” than your generation?
Do you know more than most when it comes to retirement?
It’s a bit of a trick question, because “average” retirement knowledge varies widely depending on your generation.1
Unsurprisingly, those closer to retirement – like the Silent Generation (1929–1945) and Baby Boomers (1946–1964) – tend to know more about it than younger generations like Gen X, Millenials, and Gen Z.1
But here’s the surprising part: even among those groups, the average retirement fluency tops out at just 50%.1 That means most people, regardless of age, correctly answer only 2 or 3 out of 5 questions about retirement.
And the younger you go, the more that fluency drops.1
While these numbers may seem low, they don’t define you. Regardless of your age, there’s always room to build stronger fluency and take control of your financial future.
That’s why I’m sharing a quick 5-question quiz in this month’s Visual Insights Newsletter. It’s designed to help you gauge where you stand and start thinking more critically about your retirement plan.
